He founded Roman Austin Car Accident and Personal Injury Lawyers in 1996 out of a passion to help accident victims rebuild their lives. He is a Tampa Bay native, and is passionate about representing the injured in his hometown. He received his undergraduate education from the University of Florida College of Journalism in 1981, and after working as a writer for a season, he decided to return to school to pursue his Juris Doctor, which he obtained from Florida State University College of Law in 1986. Mark has an incredible work ethic. He was born to immigrant parents and worked many blue-collar jobs to pay his way through school. Attorney Mark Roman is one of the few attorneys who has passed the rigorous examination to become Board Certified as an expert in Civil Trial Law. This designation is something that less than 2% of Florida attorneys possess. Mark has also been rated and recognized time and again for his exceptional representation in the field of personal injury.     Tampa personal injury lawyer John C. Austin was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a graduate of the class of 2000 from St. Petersburg High School. He then attended the University of Florida for both his undergraduate work as well as law school. He received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the Fisher School of Accounting in 2004 and his Juris Doctorate from the Levin College of Law in 2008. Being a native of Tampa Bay, nothing gives him greater pride than being able to represent members of this great community involvement. From 2009 through 2016 John worked for a local insurance defense firm representing insurance companies and individuals in personal injury claims. From 2016 through 2021 John worked as an in-house attorney for the Corporate Law Department of State Farm’s Claims Litigation Counsel in St. Petersburg. John has also received the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. Held by less than 4% of the insurance industry, the CPCU designation is widely considered the gold standard and most distinguished designation offered in the insurance industry. Navigating a claim with an insurance company can be extremely complicated and challenging, which makes it an added benefit having an attorney with this type of credential. John’s experience working as both a private defense attorney, as well as an in-house defense attorney, means that he knows exactly what defendants, their attorneys and their insurance company will do in handling your case.     Miles Hickman, Partner and Trial Attorney at Roman Austin, was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. He attended college at the University of Central Florida where he double majored in legal studies and history. He then graduated from Stetson University College of Law in 2017. During law school, he clerked for a prominent insurance defense firm in St. Petersburg. He continued working at that firm out of law school and for the first six years of his career. Early on in his career, Miles was given the opportunity to be a leader and was in charge of managing a legal team that grew to over ten employees. Miles has represented clients through all facets of personal injury claims, including pre-suit, litigation, and trial. During his career, Miles has placed a strong emphasis on preparing cases for trial and has served as both first and second chair counsel during trial. Miles has lived in the central Florida area his entire life and is dedicated to serving the communities in this area. His long-term goal is to be a board-certified trial attorney. During his free time, Miles enjoys being out on the water, going to sporting events, and spending time with his wife and dogs.
