  Renato Aves

  DDS

  Dr. Aves received his dental degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1994. He then completed his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery in Washington DC at Howard University Hospital. Dr. Aves was Chief Resident of the Oral and Maxillofacial Residency Program in 1999 and served as Captain in the United States Army Reserve for over 10 years.

  Alejandro Caribas

  DDS

  Dr. Alejandro Caribas earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (D.D.S.) from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He went on to complete his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the Puerto Rico Medical Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2002. During this time Dr. Caribas received extensive training in all aspects of contemporary Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including trauma, dentoalveolar, and dental implants. Following his residency, Dr. Caribas returned to Venezuela and practiced for ten years at San Juan De Dios Children’s Hospital and also served as an associated professor in oral surgery for the Venezuela Central University.

  Juan Samaniego

  DDS

  Dr. Juan Samaniego was born in Spain and moved to Venezuela, where his professional education began at the University Santa Maria, in Caracas, Venezuela. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree at the University of Santa Maria with honors in 2000. From 2002 to 2004, he was an intern at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. From 2004 to 2008, he was a resident oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and from 2008 to 2009, he was a tumor and reconstruction fellow at Jackson Memorial Hospital, working alongside Dr. Robert E. Marx.

  Tarik Elmohd

  DMD

  A Tampa Bay native, Dr. Elmohd is a board certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon that has been practicing full scope oral & maxillofacial in the Tampa Bay Area since 2019. Dr. Elmohd attended the University of South Florida (USF) after graduating Valedictorian of his class. He graduated from USF Summa Cum Lauda with honors. He received an Ivy League education at The University of Pennsylvania where he graduated Summa Cum Lauda with honors in clinical dentistry. Dr. Elmohd trained at the highly-competitive Medstar Washington Hospital Center residency program in Washington, D.C., serving as Chief Resident in his final year. This program is nationally recognized for its unique and intense training in dental implantology, in addition to offering premier full-scope training in oral & maxillofacial surgery. In his training, Dr Elmohd had the privilege of training with leading surgeons and world renowned implant surgeons and prosthodontist Dr. Hamid Shafie.

  Sean Walcott

  DDS

  Dr. Walcott was born in beautiful Barbados, West Indies, where he happily spent his entire childhood and young adult life. His professional education began at the Howard University College of Dentistry, in Washington D.C., where he received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). Graduating in the top 5% of his class, Dr. Walcott decided to specialize, and was accepted into the prestigious Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program at Howard Hospital. Following completion of the rigorous four-year program, Dr. Walcott moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where he entered private practice, and maintained surgical privileges at the world renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Walcott moved with his wife Diana and their three children to central Florida in 2003, where he has practiced oral surgery. The Tampa Bay Institute of Oral Surgery and Dental Implants is extremely honored to have him establish his new practice in our Lakeland, Florida office.

  Oleg Kalsow

  DMD

  Dr. Oleg Kalsow is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Coming from a family of health professionals, Dr. Kalsow had an interest in the health field from a young age. Before moving to Florida, he lived in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his undergraduate education at University of Florida, then obtained his DMD at Nova Southeastern University where he graduated at the top of his class. He then went on to do residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at prestigious MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC. During his residency he rotated at top healthcare facilities such as Johns Hopkins University and The National Institute of Health. The surgical residency had a strong focus on orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, and maxillofacial pathology. After graduating residency, he did a facial cosmetics fellowship at Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital where he trained under Dr. John Griffin to learn techniques in facial aesthetic surgery such as facelifts, blepharoplasties, otoplasties, Botox, fillers, and other cosmetic procedures.
